DESCRIPTION

Project Goal:
Driven by the project "CHANGE - the next blue in fashion and in interior-/architecture Design", a smart backpack was equipped with OPVIUS organic photovoltaic modules. Integrating new technologies like OPV in fashion shows the easy connection of design and functionality in the future everyday life.

Details:
"Inspired by the solar trees of the German Pavilion at the Expo 2015 in Milan, the design of the backpack seizes the solar cells' hexagonal structure. Small OPVIUS OPV modules were applied on the wearable to accumulate solar energy in order to charge electronic devices, like mobile phones."

About "PINK BIONIC":
The master degree course "Textile Products Design" is led by the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology. "PINK BIONIC" is one student's result, out of the overall project "CHANGE", that is led by Prof. Dr. M.-E. Wachs and supported by Epson Germany GmbH.
